My Day in Pasadena, TX
When I found out I was traveling to Texas, I knew I had to spend a day in Pasadena. The area’s close proximity to the Gulf Coast was perfect for what I had in mind. Prior to my visit, I checked out the Pasadena Chamber of Commerce website to help me plan my day.
I’ve always wanted to take a trip on a bayou, so when I came across the page for Armand Bayou Nature Center, I knew I had to go. The Armand Bayou is located in the Clear Lake Area, and is home to all sorts of wildlife. I decided to take a trip on the electric pontoon boat, but guided canoe tours are also available.
They offer a breakfast excursion on their “Bayou Ranger” pontoon boat. The boat picked me and seven other passengers up at the Bay Area Park boat launch around 8 a.m. While we traveled through the Nature Center, we enjoyed a delicious breakfast of pastries, juice, and coffee. We enjoyed watching the variety of wildlife during our 90 minute cruise.
After the ride, I enjoyed a brisk hike on one of the Nature Center’s trails, and practiced my amateur photographer skills on many birds and insects. I even came across a deer on my hike. It was a beautiful way to experience Pasadena.
